I. Railway Construction

 

The cost of railway siding construction is calculated for each particular object according to the approved working draft, when the scope of construction works is already determined. However you may use an approximate cost of construction of 1-kilometer track calculated for the objects of different complexity (conventional classification) for the purposes of preliminary project pay-off estimate.

Estimated cost of construction of 1-kilometer railway siding:

1.   Simple Facility. Approximate scope of works: laying of 1-kilometer track on wooden sleepers, laying of waste-pipe (12 meters) – 1 piece, embankment fill (2 meters) – 0.5 kilometer.

According to the price list No. ÔÅÐ as of 2001 the approximate cost equals to 3 720 690 rubles. Pursuant to recalculation in the 1st quarter of 2009 and taking into account indices specifies for Moscow region the cost equals to 19 700 000 rubles.

2.   Medium Facility. Approximate scope of works: embankment fill (6 meters) – 0.5 kilometers, carrying out communications – 1 kilometer, laying of 1-kilometer track on wooden sleepers, laying of  4 switches, type: Ð65, mark: 1/9.

According to the price list No. ÔÅÐ as of 2001 the approximate cost equals to 5 980 000 rubles. Pursuant to recalculation in the 1st quarter of 2009 and taking into account indices specifies for Moscow region the cost equals to 32 100 000 rubles.

3.   Complex Facility. Approximate scope of works: embankment fill (2 meters) – 0.5 kilometers; cutting (2 meters) – 0.5 kilometers; carrying out communications – 1 kilometer; installation of concrete gutters (depth: 0.75 meters) – 0.6 kilometers; installation of 2 crossings (width: 10 meters) with reinforced concrete plate top; laying of 1.7-kilometer track on wood sleepers (1 kilometer of main track and 0.7 kilometers of lay-out); laying of waste-pipe (12 meters) – 2 pieces; laying of  5 switches, type: Ð65, mark: 1/9.

According to the price list No. ÔÅÐ as of 2001 the approximate cost equals to 7 354 800 rubles. Pursuant to recalculation in the 1st quarter of 2009 and taking into account indices specifies for Moscow region the cost equals to 41 077 270 rubles.

 

II. Vertical Seismic Profile (VSP) Materials

 

Information concerning the cost of track superstructure key materials is more precise. Their overall cost makes up a portion of the total cost of construction of new railways of any complexity. Upon the complete repair of railway tracks their costs equals to 80-90% of the total cost of works.
